Misc. Notes
Sources & Information:
Philip Aylsworth, of North Kingstown, made to his son, Philip, Jr., a gift deed of 200 acres of land in West Greenwich, dated 16 December 1754 according to West Greenwich records. This land was south of the land of the land of Arthur Aylworth, Jr.

Philip Aylworth of West Greenwich, and Deborah [Waite Dyer] Aylworth, his wife, sold land in West Greenwich to William Barker on 19 September 1769. The signatures were both autographic and the names were spelled Aylworth in West Greenwich records.

It is probable that Philip and Deborah emigrated about this time, for on the 18th day of February, 1772, they deeded land in West Greenwich to Judiah Aylworth. The deed says: "Philip Aylworth of New Britain, Duchess Co., New York.," and mentions his wife, Deborah Aylworth. His signature is autographic, and spelled "Aylworth." Her name is not signed to this deed. As near as can be learned, they went to Canada about 1790 or 1791 and remained in Ernestown for a time, but
crossed into Prince Edward County where she died. This probably at the house of her son, Barret Dyer, advanced in years and not long after their arrival in Prince Edward County. Philip went back to Columbia County, New York, but returned to Prince Edward County, where he died suddenly, when in the field at the home of his grand daughter's husband, Asa Werden at the age of perhaps 90 years. Another source said he died in 1801.

Deborah Waite had a sister, Lucretia Hopkins, who died in Rhode Island, and also three brothers, Benjamin, Samuel, and George Waite, who went to Prince Edward County after she died, and who probably died there. By her first husband she had two children, at least. Baret and Waty are both believed to have gone to Prince Edward County. Waty died at her brother's home in middle life, but Barret lived to old age, on the south side of East Lake.

Family Group Record <familysearch.org> note that the four children are using the sir name of SYLSWORTH the same as father but upon move to New York and Ontario Canada changed the usage to Elsworth. We have shown than in the name usage.
