Sources & Information:
Charles and Ruth (Woodward) Ellis lived in Barnard in the old John Ellis, Sr. place, in the Lyman Townsend place, and at the village in the house opposite the Methodist parsonage. This entire family was stricken with some mysterious disease, perhaps spinal meningitis; the three youngest died within a week and the two oldest were left permanently crippled. Norman became a watch repairer and he and Aurora made wonderful toys which found a ready sale.
