February 11, 1866, Abiathar Parkhurst Ellis letter to John Gilmore Ellis says my family is well and that little John H. Ellis says he wants to see Uncle John. All this prior to the loss of many of the children during May and June of 1869. He further tells John that sister Susan Snow [Ellis] Towne is living in Springfield, Vermont

Ellis family move to new location. Apparently following the death of all children in this family Abiathar Parkhurst Ellis and wife Mary P. [Esterbrook] Ellis made a move away from area of sadness. We find them in the 1900; Census Place: North Hampton, Rockingham, New Hampshire; Roll: T623 950; PAGE: 4A; Enumeration District: 202. Abiathar [Abiatha - note spelling] P. Ellis and Mary P. Ellis at this location. This location is in the lower S. E. sector of N. H. and some what removed form there normal family location. Mary P. died in May 1903 or a little over two years of this Census but we do not know where she is buried. Abiathar is indicated as having died in Hardwick thus must have returned to that area but do not know where he is buried. There is also questions of children burials as well.
