Joshua Giddings Jr went from Lyme to Hartland, Conn., with his father while an infant, and emigrated to Athens, Pennsylvania, then to Canandaique, NY, then to Ashtubula County, Ohio, and was among the first emigrants to the region; settled in Williamfield, 1812, and there remained during his life. He was a soldier in the Revolution, and was with Arnold on Lake Champlain. He married (1) October 29, 1785, Submit Jones. (2) Elizabeth Please, of Enfield, Conn. the later was born May 29, 1756, died September 24, 1827.
