Deborah Waite Dyer of Exeter, R.I. The widow of William Dyer late of North Kingstown. William Dyer being the brother of Freelove Dyer, wife of Philip's brother, Arthur Aylsworth.

Letters of administration were issued to Deborah Dyer, Widow of William Dyer, deceased, 9 October 1749 according to North Kingstown records. First inventory amounted to upwards of L300. Two others were afterwards presented, amount not known. In the year, 1760, Barat Dyer desired the town council to approve of Philip Aylworth as his guardian according to North Kingstown records.

This data comes from Mrs. Elizabeth Wallis of Picton, Prince Edward Co., Ontario, Canada and is contained in the book, Arthur Aylsworth and His Descendents in America.

Deborah Dyer along with Philip's grandfather, grandmother, and all of their daughters were supposedly professors of religion. After his wife's death, Philip spent much of this time with his friends in Canada and New York. He went to Canada where he buried his wife.

"The author goes on to say Deborah (Waite) had a sister, Lucretia Hopkins, who died in Rhode Island, and also had three brothers, Benjamin, Samuel and George Waite, who went to Prince Edward County after she died, and who died there, probably."

NEGH Register, Vol 73, October 1919, page 299, gives information on the Samuel Wait family as recorded on the FTM program.

Conny Green further states: "Preponderence of evidence seems to make the link to this Wait/Waite family, ie, children's names of the Ayslworths, and the known names of Deborah Waite's sister and three brothers as well as her other siblings, ie. Caleb and Henry and her mother Sarah turning up as the names of her children."

Barret Dyer had been previously shown as Barret Dyer Elsworth but is actually the son of Deborah (Waite) Dyer and husband William Dyer.
