Thomas Cutler was born in Cambridge Farms, a/k/a Lexington, MA., on 15 December 1677 where he settled and resided the greater part of his life. He married 1st Sarah, daughter of Samuel and Dorcus (Jones) Stone, who joined the church in Lexington, 4 July 1708. He married 2nd Lydia Simonds and was with her dismissed to the church in Western (now Warren, MA.), 17 May 1752, having owned the covenant in Lexington, 6 June 1703.
On the 6th of November 1736, he sold to Joseph Wood of Lancaster, for L 70, sixty eight acres in Lancaster, and 28 April 1738, James Robinson of Lexington, for L 70, lot No. 111, of 77 acres, in Narragansett Township, No. 2 and also 23 October 1750. for L 50, to Noah Ashley, a full right, or lot, in the same township, drawn, no doubt, in the right of of his father. He about this time, bought of Noah Ashley a farm in Western (now Warren), where 15 September 1759, he made his will, be questing to Thomas Jr. all his lands, buildings, half the service of his Negro man, half his books and apparel, all his husbandry tools, household utensils, and debts due him at his decrease, requiring him to pay L 13, 6 s, 6 d. and a cow to his grandson, John Mead, when aged 21, 5 s to Israel Mead, his granddaughters, Sarah Paine and Hannah Mead. To his son David, he gave his silver-headed cane, half the service of his Negro man, half his books, and apparel and L 13, 6 s, 8 d. All his beads, bedding, pewter and brass furniture to his three daughters and two grand-daughters.
