Thomas 5 Ellis's father conveyed to him by deed dated 28Aug1784 the major share of the homestead including the dwelling house in Rochester. He was a revolutionary soldier serving in Capt. Nathaniel Hammond's company, Lt. Col. White's regiment, July - August 1780. He is listed in the 1790 census as the head of a Sandwich family of two males over 16 and three females. His will is dated 11 February 1812 and proved 22 Jan1813.
