Item 1.Luke 5 Ellis was a Revolutionary War soldier. He enlisted in Capt. Thomas Crandon's company, Col. John Hathaway's regiment 24 July 1775; service 5 months, 10 days; in Capt. Hanry Jenne's company, Col. John Hathaway's regiment 2 August 1780; service 6 days on an alarm at Rhode Island. He is listed in the 1790 census as the head of a Rochester family of one male over 16, one under 16 and four females. Her died in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
