Word has been received here of the death Thursday in Easley, S.C., of Mrs. Rebecca (Hathaway) Champlin, 93, formerly of fairhaven.
She was the widow of William D. champlin, Fairhaven town clerk and treasurer from 1924 until 1949.
Born in fairhaven, she had lived in that town until moving to Florida in 1965. While in Fairhaven she was a member of the Unitarian Memorial Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. James H. Lesley, of Easley, S.C., and a sister, Mrs. Edgar W. Farwell of Brockton.
Funeral services will take place in Easley. Graveside services and interment in the family plot in Riverside Cemetery, Fairhaven, arraanged by the Wilson chapel, 479 County St., New Bedford, will take place at a later date.
