Note 3. Descendants of Benjamin Ellis, rec'd from Kate Turner Vavala, indicates date and place of birth for Samuel Ellis as: May 27, 1762 and Lebanon, Connecticut.
Note 4. The Ellis Burial Plots are adjacent to the Turner Burial plots and Samual's grave is adjacent to Henry Roy Turner's grave in Boughton Hill cemetery. Samuel Ellis and his wife Vilate Fitch, were apparently originally buried on a farm that Bolivar Ellis owned at one time, referred to as the Murray-Ellis Farm, where it is believed that Vilate Murray and her husband, Herber Kimball, lived for a time. The farm is located in Victor, N.Y. Bolivar moved his branch of the family to BHC prior to selling the farm.
Note 5. Patricia Geisler, descendant of Vilate Murray and Heber Kimball, visited the farm once owned by Bolivar, hoping to find her own ancestors: Susannah Fitch, Roswell Murray-her husband, and Ezra Murray-Roswell's father. However the headstones had all been removed, and per the farmer's wife, are most likely in use in the barn's foundation.
