The oldest daughter, Hannah, was born ca 1812, but is doubted that Moses and Polly were married at that time. In 1813, a local physician, Dr. Sanford, recorded a visit to Polly Travis. William Ellis, one of Moses' half-brothers, paid her bill. Then in 1816 Polly Travis was witness to the will of Ann Ellis, sister of Moses. If Moses and Polly were married by then, her name would have been Polly Ellis, not Travis. The second child, Charlotte, was born 1818, six years after Hannah. So it is believed Moses and Polly were married ca 1817. Hannah was called sister in the Ellis Family Letters, but I do not know if Moses and Polly were actually her parents.
