Misc. Notes
He appears to be the Stephen Ellis who served as a private in Capt. John Bradford's company, Col. Theophilus Cotton's regiment, 1775; as a sergeant in Capt. James Harlow's company, Col. Thomas Lothrop's regiment, 1777; and in Capt. Thomas Sampson's company, Col. Theophilus Cotton's regiment, 1777.
Apparently they were not members of the church as they were not on themembership list of 1787. He is listed as the head of a Sandwich family of one male over 16 and two females in the 1790 census. No birth or baptismal records of their children found, probably there were more.
