Item 1.Tradition has it that although Gershom Ellis birth was recorded in Sandwich, he was actually born in Nova Scotia and for that reason he was known as "Blue Nose Gershom Ellis."
Their five oldest children were baptized together, 1 November 1807. Gershom's will was
dated 17 April 1855 and proved 8 January 1861.
