Item 1.As the Reverend Francis Brokaw, Methodist Minister, he did his farming and was
one of the early circuit riders. About 1863 they moved to Warren County, Iowa.
He was one of the first ministers to be a guest preacher at the "Little Brown Church"
of song fame. Their first four children were born in Morgan County, Ohio; the others
in Warren County, Iowa. All children by Mahala Ellis.
