NEWSPAPER DEATH NOTICE
KATHERINE COLWELL:

Katherine M. (Crane) Colwell 82 of 815 Pine St., died Saturday morning at the Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility in Corunna. She had been ill for the past 12 years. The funeral will be held from Jennings-Lyons Chapel Tuesday at 1 P.M., with the Rev. Jerry D. Ulrich officiating. Burial is to be in Greenwood Cemetery in Vernon. The body rests at the funeral chapel.
Mrs. Colwell had formerly been employed as a cook at Gorte's Restaurant. She, at one time, also worked at Corunna Manufacturing and Mid-West Abrasive.
Born in St Clair County Nov. 4, 1895 to Christopher C. and Amelia (Beckwith) Elsworth. She attended the Bennington School and the Gale School near Morrice. She had resided in this community since 1910. She was first married to William Crane in 1910. He died in 1940. She later married Willis Colwell in 1944. He died in 1947. Surviving are: Two sons, Arnold of Owosso and Edward of Detroit; three daughters, Mrs. Clayton (Florence) Peters of Owosso, Mrs. Fred (Lois) Martin of Hale and Mrs. Katherine Winkowski of Flint; 40 grand-children: 11 step-grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. Four sons, one daughter and one brother preceded her in death.
