"It has been a full and healthy year for us. In April we drove to Branson, Missouri and then on to the deep south including Memphis, New Orleans and San Antonio. Loved all the redbud, dogwood and azaleas. Spring in the South is certainly gorgeous. A beautiful time of the year to visit.
In July Greg, Cathi, Katie and Kerrie were here for two weeks. First we met them in Salt Lake and drove to Yellowstone. From there to home and the cabin which is their favorite vacation spot. Later that month we flew to Oakland for the wedding of two very dear friends - and, spent another week with Greg and family.
My brother Ned (Edwin Gould Frohberg) passed away in September from emphysema and lung cancer. Cindy was his main care giver. Luckily his other daughter Susan got here from New Zealand three days before he died. With the help of hospice, family, church and friends I think his last days were peaceful.
In October Bruce and I flew to Chicago - rented a car and drove to Door County, Wisconsin (a peninsula between Greenbay and Lake Michigan. It was charming. We then drove to Sault Ste Marie - sailed the locks, drove to Mackinaw City, Mackinaw Island (via ferry) Charlevoix and from Luddington, Mi. took the car ferry back to Wisconsin and home. It was delightful and a trip I had long wanted to make. We haven't travelled this much in years but we loved every minute of it."
