Item 1.The WHARFF History, written 1982 by, Anna Schneider Best, containing 11 pages using
the old typewriter method has a goodly amount of material.
She had to have spent considerable time on this contribution.
Family Records, by unknown author, recorded in ink on white paper states Rolla J. Wharff's Grandfather as Amzi A. Wharff [note spelling of Amzi instead of known Amza] of Welsh
ancestry and came on a British Ship but jumped ship at Boston. He married in June 1861,
Elvira Amanda Fall of English ancestry, she born 7 Nov 1841 in Maine. There were 11
children of this marriage of which one died in infancy and is unnamed. The other 10 see
listing. Four of these children have no date of birth.

Item 2.1880 United States Census Household Record, Salem, Washington, Ohio. Indicates Arnza Wharff as a farmer, his father and mother's birth place in Maine. His wife Elvira shows both parents as also born in Maine. There are also 7 children listed from which aproximate date of birth have been established for each. They are Claramine, Jesse, Erwin, Arza, Carrie,
Archie and Luella Wharff.

Item 3.Sheet (1) Wharff's handwritten history spells first name as AMZI instead of known ARNZA
This conflict should be watched. 1850 Cenus shows name spelled as Amaziah A. Wharff.
