History of the Town of Warsaw, New York, by Andrew W. Young, pub. 1869, page 33. On 1 Oct 1808, Thomas Sherman, north half lot 14; 166 acres. 2 Oct 1818, new article to Lester Giddings.
Lester Giddings acquired land in Sec. 33, Washington Township, in 1823. He also on 13th day of November located on the W 1/2 of S.W. 1/4 of Section 5, in Macomb Township.
The Davis settlement in the northwestern portion of the township had for its early pioneers, Calvin Davis, Chauncey Church, Daniel Kniffen, Lester Giddings and Daniel Miller. This information from publication, "Past and Present of Macomb County, Michigan, By Robert F. Eldredge." Chicago: The S. J. Clarke Publishing Co. 1905. Same individuals noted in excerpted notes of Macomb Twp. from Leeson's History of Macomb County, Michigan, pp.767ff. You will find the names of Davis, Church, Kniffen and Miller as having married into one or other of the Giddings families.

"Lester Giddings, a pensioner in the war of 1812, died January 2, 1879, in the eighty-seventh year of his age. He was born in June, 1792, at Granvill, Washington Co., N.Y., to which place his father, Niles Giddings, moved from Hartland, Conn., soon after the Revolutionary war."
Kniffen, David, Miller & Lester Giddings are noted in Leeson's History of Macomb Township as having started a general store at the original site of Macomb Corners.
1850 United States Federal Census, Macomb Township, Macomb Co., Michigan, lists Lester Giddings, age 55, Rebecca E. Giddings, age 53, Delia Giddings, age 29, Lucy Giddings, age 23, Lafayette Giddings, age 20, Clark Giddings, age 17, Arthur Giddings, age 10 and Eugene Giddings, age 8.
