The 1890, 1900, 1910 U.S. Federal Census records did not give up an information regarding George G. Ellis who has been an elusive individual when seeking information regarding his life. Fannie Mary [Gridley] Blom was broached on the subject prior to her death in October 1991 but with no further answer obtained.
November 4, 1905, Deed Record No. 18, Becker Co., Minnesota, Page 592, Instrument No. 29909L, re: George G. Ellis to Albert H. Gridley of Becker Co., Minnesota. We have had a date of birth for a George G. Ellis as 1881 and if this is correct George G. Ellis would be about age 24 in 1905. George G. Ellis, of Becker Co., Minnesota is indicated as an unmarried man in this document.
August 4, 1904 a Letter from Robin A. Ellis.
"Dear Sister
Our mother died on the 23rd of July and was buried on following day, brother George was not at home, he is in the northern part of the state. I have not heard from him for two months. I enclose my picture. I would like to correspond with you if you care to write to me.

August 19, 1907, Deed Record No. 25, Becker Co., Minn., Page 391, Instrument No. 38628, re: George Ellis or Wain dub, a singleman of mixed blood Chippawa Indian of the White Earth Indian Reservation, Becker Co., Minneasota.
April 7, 1930, U. S. Federal Census, is a George Ellis, Two Lakes Township, Case Lake Indian Reservation, Beltrami, Minnesota. Here you have a family with a George Ellis, age 54, wife Rose R. age 44 and children George R. Ellis, age 18, Jerome T. Ellis, age 10 and Naomi M. Ellis, age 6, indicating George Ellis as father of mixed race, mother a Chippewa and his occupation as Minister, Episcopal Church. Not sure if this is a member of the Ellis family being researched. [See attached Census information sheet].
October 11, 1930, Certified Copy of Death Record, No. F-13-4, of George Ellis, indicating date of death as October 11, 1930, @ Carsonville Twp., Becker County, Usual Residence Carsonville Twp., Becker, Co., Male, Race Indian, Married, No name of wife given, date of birth as June 24, 1877, in Minnesota, Father as Ogonnabbe, born in Minnesota, Cause of Death: Pernicious Anemia. No information given for his Mother. This Certificate issused by State of Minnesota, Becker County, District Court, Seventh Judicial District, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota on 16th day of July 1984. Signed by both the Clerk of the District Court and Deputy.
Follow up Note: Want locations of the two Indian Reservations coming up during this research. They are the “Case Lake Indiand Reservation” and “White Lake Indian Reservation.”
