Ancestry.com > 1900 United States Federal Census for Borough of Manhattan, New York County, New York, USA, on 5th day of June 1900. We find the following in the order presented: First is Ellis, Helen J., Head, white, female, born March 1862, age 38, born in N.Y., father born in England, mother born in New York. Second is Ellis, Mary W., daughter, born April 1892, age 8, born in N.Y. Third is Davies, Helen, mother, white, female, born abt. Jan 1836 in New York. Fourth is Ellis, Elmer O., born Jan 1860, age 40, indicated his place of birth as in New York with both his parents born in New York. This would be incorrectly given information by a member of the family where it has been difficult at best to receive from either side. Father born in Massachusetts and Mother born in New Hampshire.
