In the winter of 1799 Ebenezer Ellis, Captain with his vessel & crew were lost on
the Nantucket Shoals. In March 1800 his widow sold all property at Cheboque and
with her five children returned to her father's home at Minot, Maine. He was Pastor
of a church there, to which he had been called from Chebogue some years before.
