Item 1.Robert Ellis was mustered into Federal Service 15 May 1865 in Company B, 166th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. After the Civil War he operated a barrel factory on his farm south of Wakeman until 1868. He sold his farm to his brother-in-law, Joseph Stiles, in the summer of 1868. Robert's principal occupation was the grocery business. He owned and operated a grocery store at 13 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio and others in Sullivan and New London, Ohio.
