Descendants of John Ellis of Maine (Broome Co.) New York. This family history was reconstructed from a set of 3 x 5 cards found in the Town of Maine Historian's Office. The cards were originally from an old family document which disappeared years ago and no known copy now exists. Ellis Cousins Newsletter member Chuck Spence of 893 Nowlan Rd. Port Crane NY 13833, has undertaken the job of reconstructing this family history and having it published in ECN so the information will not be lost o future generations. See ECN, Winter 1995, pg. 10 starting with John Ellis, his son John Ellis and further descendants. It has about seven minor conflicts of dates that only actual birth and death notices will eventually bring up the correct confirmation. /s/ Edward D. Ellis, Royal Oak, MI.
