Item 3.Nathaniel 5 Ellis was a Revolutionary War soldier serving in Capt. Ward
Swift's company, Col. Freeman's regiment in April 1775 and again in
September 1778; also in Capt. Elijah Smalley's company, Maj. Zenas
Winslow's regiment in September 1778. He is listed in the 1790 census as
the head of a Sandwich family of two males over 16 and three females.
