History of Rindge, NH indicates Susan S. Ellis and Charles Towne marriage on 6 Sept. 1849 and living at Ashburnham, MA.

The Towne Family goes back to William Towne and Joanna Blessing who married in
Yarmouth, Norfolk Co., England, 25 March 1720. The date of their emigration to New England is unknown. In 1640 they were residing in Salem, MA., and in 1651
removed to Topsfield, where he died about 1672. Charles B. Towne is further descended from Edmund Towne and Mary Browning; Joseph Towne and Amy Smith; Nathan Towne and Jamima Perkins; Deacon Francis Towne and Phebe Towne; Green Towne and Lucy Rand. Reference is History of the town of Rindge, NH from the date of the Rowley Canada or Massachusetts Charter to the present time. 1736 - 1874, with a genealogical Register of the Rindge Families, by Ezra S.
