Information on the Swift family is provided through Records of Marriage, Baptism and Deaths, from Diary of the Rev. Benjamin Fessenden, who was ordained at Sandwich, MA and indicates a Baptism of Joannah Swift, daughter of Josiah, on 25 Aug. 1723.
Vital Records Town of Harwich, September the 17th day 1737 then John Elles. (note spelling) of Harwich and Johanna Swift of Harwich had their intention of marriage entered. The name Joanna, Joannah, Johannah, Johanna, Swift a different way first names appears.

SAMUEL NYE (Ichabod, Jonathan, Benjamin), born at Middleboro, Mass., March 7, 1714. He married in Rochester, Mass., June 23, 1737, Lydia Benson. She died June 30, 1756. In 1748 he removed to New Braintree, Mass., and married 2nd Nov 16, 1756, Mrs. Mehitable Cannon of New Braintree. He later lived in Ware, Mass., and is the Samuel Nye who married in that town, Jan. 1793, Joanna Ellis she being age 70 years.

In the publication of William Swyft of Sandwich and some of his Descendants, Vol. 12, page 311, covering period 1637 - 1889, compiled by George H. Swift, Amenia, N.., and published by Round Table Press, Millbrook, N.Y., in 1900 is found the following: Lineage of Descent. William 1 Swift (Swyft) and Ruth _____, Josiah 2 Swift and Experience Nye, Joanna 3 Swift born 5 July 1723.
Then on page 7 see Joanna 3 Swift born 5 July 1723, dau. of Josiah Swift who married 1st on 19 April 1706, Mary Bodfish of Barnstable and had 4 children. Mary Bodfish died in 1715. Josiah Swift, marred 2nd. Experience Nye of Sandwich, on 23 June 1718 and also had 4 children.
Looking further to page 16 is found Joanna, a daugher of Josiah and Experiencer Swift born 5 July 1723 but leaving no further record.
